2 year olds party
« on: April 13, 2012, 05:35:00 pm »
So my son will be turning 2 in May. Last year we did something with just immediate family but this year I feel like we should invite a few kiddos his age. Problem with this is if you invite one then you don't invite another people start to get all pissy and I just don't want to have a domino affect turning it into a huge party. Anyone else ever have to deal with this? How did you handle it? Other suggestions are of course welcomed

The kid is only 2 he's not going to remember a thing so why go through the stress off all that?  Just have the party with family for now and worry about inviting other kids when he is school age.

I agree. I suggest that you wait until he starts kindergarten to have parties with friends. At that point they can help with the guest list of kids that he sees regularly.

I suggest waiting until preschool or at least kindergarten. Having family at that age is more than enough I think!!! good luck!

i would invite only 2 or 3 of the closest kids
you know that are his age, and maybe only
mention it to them and family. if anyone asks,
just say it was a small party and you didn't
want the hassle this year...
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

Well we talked today and we're going to do the immediate family that came last year and children that are related to us close to his age. That way he still gets time w/people his age and we can say we limited it just to family.

IMO people that have kids should be more than understanding when it comes to limiting the size of a party and people who don't have kids shouldn't be upset about not being invited but the domino affect would have happened with my son's fathers friends and I am more than over that mess of people lol

well we just had a party for a 3 yr old and that was alot of people with alot of kids and it got out of control. watch your kids and discipline them when they need it.

I would go with just the family party or inviting a couple of close friends over for a birthday play date. At some point in the future you are probably going to need to worry about inviting all the classmates etc.
