Friday, the 13th

Today is Friday, the 13th day of April.  Some people are superstitious on the 13th if it happens to follow on a Friday.  Are you?  I am not.  To me, it is just another day.

I am the ultimate Optimist!! I don't believe in superstition at all. I don't believe in friday the 13th, crossing paths with a black cat, throwing salt over you right shoulder or passing under a ladder being bad luck. I believe you make your own luck. There is no bad or good Luck!!

Just another day to me too. Well kind of. Friday the 13th always reminds me of Halloween for some reason, no matter what month it's in. So I kind of look at it as another Halloween.

Friday the 13th?  I am a healthcare worker and am on graveyard shift in the adult ICU.  That is not a good day for us......neither are full moons.  Yeah superstitious comes into play for us in the adult units.....don't say the bad words!! QUIET,SLOW,UNEVENTFUL!!!!

It definitely is the 13th of friday today..... Alot of people are very superstitious everytime this happens... I remember when i was a kid my grandma would always tell me to be very careful as you are going to be more prone to accidents on this date. It gave me the chillsm that time for sure

I did not notice today is Friday the 13th until I read your post. I am not superstitious of any kind. Today is just like any other regular day.

The number 13 happens to be my favorite number. Dont know why, but it is always the first number that pops into my head.

I think that just looking at Friday the thirteenth as you would any other day keeps it from turning into something like a self-fulfilling prophecy.  If you say, and believe, that something will go wrong-it will.  Just as if you say and believe something good will happen-it will.  You are able to control most of your destiny and should not assign stigmatisms associated to bad luck on days unless you truly would like bad luck to fall into your life.  I try not to think anout the evil that other people associate with Friday the thirteenth and have been blessed with good fortune and luck on this date.

I always celebrate Friday the 13th!  I have had many, many good things happen to me on Friday the 13th.  I got married on that date, bought my first business on the date, and a number of other things.  I'm sure there is some history on how the superstition came to be. Doing just a quick research I found this online:  One theory states that it is a modern amalgamation of two older superstitions: that thirteen is an unlucky number and that Friday is an unlucky day.Happy Belated Friday the 13th! or Happy Early Friday the 13th - we have another coming up in July! The 3rd one for this year. The 1rst was January 13th.

My mother alway though it was lucky, it was her birthday. She always wanted the number 13 in her car tags also, she would ask everytime she got new plates.

My day went just fine yesterday, which was Friday the 13th. It's just another day and nothing for anyone to be alarmed about. It gives people something to talk about though.
