Did I stumble in to the wrong forum?

"Help, I'm steppin' into the twilight zone;
The place is a madhouse, feels like being cloned;
My beacon's been moved under moon and star
Where am I to go, now that I've gone too far?"
-- excerpted from Twilight Zone -- Golden Earring

I had no idea this was a Christian, family forum!  Excuse me, Focus on the Family!  I suppose it's also one where only conservative republicans post......

If the more 'militant' xtians had their way, it might turn into a theocratic forum where repugnant..., I mean republican, and democratic xtians could engage in unopposed evangelism.  Much to their chagrin, (and everyone else's benefit), it's not.  I did enjoy your sarcasm, however.

This post should be locked already. And not posted in the payments section. Unless you're a newbie, I can understand about not posting in the right board. But being that's it an Elite member who started it, sorry but no excuse!  How irritating!

I concur.  None of this thread's content has anything whatsoever to do with "payments".  Were Admin to move it to the off topic forum or lock it, they'd be justified in doing so.

Also, I probably shouldn't be adding the problem, but I'm just posting to get to the 30 posts/month.  :)

Thats an idea... a daily devotional section.

Not in the Payments forum, however - unless there's some inherently untenable suggestion that these be paid for.

I say "Not in the Forums, period!" Personally, I would find it highly offensive if FC allowed this. This is NOT a biblical clearing house for Christian members only. It is a site [primarily] designed to make FC and the members of FC money, the Forums are a 'bonus', literally and figuratively. When saying 'daily devotional', I (and I'm sure almost 100% of others seeing it) immediately think Bible passages. Anyone care to predict what would happen if our members who are or who follow teachings of the Quran/Koran, Santerķa (voodooism), Borucas (believe in the devil and believe he protects nature/animals/surroundings) decided to post devotionals from their respective 'religions' which go against any and all beliefs in the Christian God? Fingers would be burning up keyboards in order to argue against the heresy and blasphemy those 'non-Christians' have every right to post.

If members want to put their little gems of [Xtian] wisdom on a website, they can go to any 1 of the thousands of religious communities out in cyberspace! This is still America, I still vote, I still do not believe in God, I still work and pay taxes to keep my freedom and every other citizen's freedom alive, and because of this, I still have a voice and a vote....and I will NOT surrender either of those so this site can cater to Christians. If this idea were to go through and gain approval, I want MY own subtopic in order to give a 'daily' health thought and/or tip, notifications of new drugs and treatments - anything pertaining to taking care of our bodies. Ridiculous? Yes. However, it's NOT as ridiculous as the thought of filling endless pages with tokens of scripture on an incentive based website! :(

well im guessing if you don't like the topics you are not forced into participating in the forum. You're in the minority being a non Christian and minorities (as seen in the past get stepped on) so either accept it or go to ONE OF THOSE 1000s OF ATHIEST FORUMS and complain about it there... If you don't like the way this site "scaters to Christians"? then don't be a part of it its simple

What are you, 10 years old? You seemingly lack the ability to read and comprehend what you have read.
I did NOT say this site caters (not "scaters") to Christians. I said IF the site decided to allow a place dedicated to daily devotionals, that would be catering to them. It has NOT happened, so do not tell me, "then don't be a part of it its simple".

Back at ya and if you don't like what falcon9 and the rest of us who are not 'believers' have to say about your Bible and your christian views, take yourself out of the picture. Stop participating in the ridiculous threads started just to complain about falcon9 because you and your cronies are too ignorant to understand anything over a 3rd grade level of writing and debating.

Gee, I am "in a minority"?! Glad you pointed that out because I never noticed it - sarcasm intended and would have written "[sic]" to indicate that, but I know it would go over your head. Minorities have a voice and I will continue to use mine.  I do not need to take up a hobby such as sewing, which you suggested in another post. My sewing skills are quite accomplished. Rarely does a patient of mine have a very visible scar nor do they have keloids because I do not have to revise my surgeries multiple times 'to get it right'. Also, I do NOT have too much time on my hands, since I work more hours/week than you probably do in a month. Have a great weekend!

My comment was also sarcastic as for the quotations around them. I merely said if you didn't like the topics about Christianity, payments or topics bein in the wrong place as you comment on (and also added to the problem by posting on this subject) then you have the option to not participate in the forum. I'm not going to get into an argument about whether you believe in God or not me and falcon have already had that discussion and it gets old ( he might not like me but I believes from my points and argumental knowledge about other topics he knows I'm not stupid? Not sure tho?) as for you working more hours than me... That may be true but I work a full schedule selling art have my own website and am getting a business off the ground (hence the reason I do this) but I must say if you work more hours in a week than I do in a month... You either need to go back to school (if you ever did) and get a different degree (if you already have one which you very well may) or ask them for a pay raise. If you're working 160 hrs a week and still having to work on FC for pennies then... Well I really don't know what to say?? I'd quit and pick up cans you could make just as much doing that... And thanks you have a great day [sic] I learned that at Mississippi state university ;)

Coincidentally, everyone posting in this thread, on this subject also has the same option mentioned, (that includes you and I).  Another option is to post about not posting in this thread, (which would be a 'meta-comment').

I'm not going to get into an argument about whether you believe in God or not me and falcon have already had that discussion and it gets old ( he might not like me but I believes from my points and argumental knowledge about other topics he knows I'm not stupid? Not sure tho?) ...

The argument was already "old" before we were born however, the ensuing discussions have revealed that, in over 2,000 years the xtian adherents/proponents of such beliefs have not produced any solid evidence which supports them.  For probably just as long, those who disbelive such religious claims have challenged them only to get circular 'arguments' or 'chicket chirping' in response.  As for whether or not you're "stupid"; there is insufficient evidence extant to accurately determine that and at most, (based solely upon FC forum posts), you'd be ignorant regarding some matters, (and manifestly unable to use a process of accurately reasoning in other matters, nor resist trolling).

And as far as providing evidence as I've told you before you coincidently forget... Christianity is based on faith therefore weirder stand and never have claimed to be able to provide proof God is real... On the other hand scientific matters are based purely on facts of it can't be proved it is not true even of every finger points to it being true... So far with all technology we have as in touching a screen to make a call or pressing a button to send a message a million miles away no atom has ever been created from scratch... Hence the question that you cannot prove how the world was created... You still can't and never will be able to provide that info yet you conviently forget about that when you point your fingers at the Believers...

And as far as providing evidence as I've told you before you coincidently forget... Christianity is based on faith therefore weirder stand ...

I've known for some time before you mentioned any non-coincidences that xtianity is based speciously upon blind-faith, ("faith" being that for which there is no extant supporting evidence).

... and never have claimed to be able to provide proof God is real...

As previous remarks, (not just mine), have indicated; such claims as 'believing' in something for which there is no extant evidence is an indication of blind-faith.  If the claimaint is maintaining a belief in that which has no evidence of being "real"/existing, then such a belief stems solely, (oun implied), from blind-faith alone.

On the other hand scientific matters are based purely on facts of it can't be proved it is not true even of every finger points to it being true...

The burden of proof rests with supporting facts claimed in evidence, not with attempting to 'prove' that something isn't true.  That's not logic; it's irrationality. Have you now decided to present conclusive evidence of your inability to reason accurately?

... no atom has ever been created from scratch...

That depends upon what you mean by "from scratch" in this context.  Cooks prepare meals "from scratch" yet none of them created the atoms from which the scratch ingredients are assembled.  Does this mean that subatomic colliders cannot "create atoms from scratch" too?

You still can't and never will be able to provide that info yet you conviently forget about that when you point your fingers at the Believers...

The only "finger" pointed at religious believers/adherents is the one repeatedly requesting that they provide evidence to support their religious contentions, (which they've first posted and subsequently were contended).  Given that no such evidence has been produced in the 2,000-some-odd years since religious adherents have been contending such unsupported beliefs, it may be that another "finger" gets raised as well.

Apparently, it isn't all that difficult to 'boggle' your mind.

So you agree that we can't prove God exist and you can't prove how the world actually started it just wasn't God right?

[This thread has been moved from the Payments forum to the D+D forum but, not locked ... those who would continue posting in a context alternate to "Payments" are implicitly suggesting that I get paid for imparting the information that's now over in D+D]

So you agree that we can't prove God exist ...

That's a two-part question.  Let's see if the thread can be moved out of the Payments forum over to d+d, (since the current context warrants it).

... and you can't prove how the world actually started it just wasn't God right?
