Online Communities and honesty

What do you think about online communities that ask you to be honest, and if you give your honest opinion highlighting the drawbacks of their product, the next thing that happens is they "send you out" citing some reason like they want to keep the membership varied. If they only want to hear good things about their products then they should have a fan club and not an online community or forum. Any way that was my experience and because I was the only one sent out for being "honest", I just wanted to vent here
