Have you ever given blood?

i've given blood once while in college. but the big thing during that time was donating plasma. it was a way for most college students ( and others) to get extra cash for the weekend!!!

i really can't remember or not if i have given up. i remember one time i signed up for it in school but i wasn't feeling good that day.. only time i can think of is when i went to the doctors really..

I have given blood since I turned 16 (the legal age to start donating in South Africa). To date I have donated 73 pints, but have yet to start donating here in the US.  O+

I donate plasma sometimes which makes you so tired and worn out I hate doing it.

Yep, sure have. It's been several years though. It was back in 2005. I had problems when I donated that time, so I didn't do it again the following year. I think I probably will again though at some point.

I never gave blood, but I wanted to.   Every time they work do a blood drive at my job, I had a operation and they would not take my blood.

I've never given blood but wish I could.  I have a problem with anemia and low blood pressure.

used to donate before i got heart failure. Now its not safe for me they said.

I worked at a children's hospital for over 7 years.  Every six weeks they would have a blood drive and I'd give every time because it was a good things to do .... and I got paid to sit down, relax, and eat snacks for about an hour.  Not a bad trade off!

I've given blood all my adult life until 2009.  BCBS was having a blood drive and I gave that day, then went back to my cubicle.  I started back on my work and just started getting really light-headed, broke out in cold sweat and heart started racing.  I laid my head down and lucky for me one of my coworkers saw me and came over to see what was going on.  She said I was white as a sheet and called a sup over.  They started to call an ambulance but when I told him I had given blood, they put me in a wheelchair and took me back to the breakroom where the blood drive was set up.  The ladies there put me in one of their chairs, put my legs up and put icepacks on my face and neck.  They gave me some more juice and I stayed there for approx 20 mins until I started feeling better.  That is the only time I've ever had any problems giving blood but vowed I wouldn't take a chance by giving again and having that same thing happen.  I feel bad that I can't give blood anymore because I know the need is there.

I have never given blood. I wish I could...but I have a problem with anemia.
