i still dont get facebook, all i get is my email hacked

I like facebook for somethings. I use my page to promote sweepstakes and things I like as I visit sites on web. I don't splash my pictures everywhere and the games crash my computer so I finally quit trying. Plus the games have so many pop-ups that I get sick of having to stop in mid-game to promote the fact I won some badge. Just let me play the dumb game. 
But it is a way to stay in touch with friends.
