Bug repellent or sunscreen?
« on: March 17, 2012, 07:12:31 pm »
Hi,
I'll be going down to the Outer Banks in May, and I had a question. They say that the mosquitos can be bad at some times of the year (I don't know how they'll be in May), so I am planning on bringing bug repellent. But I am also not sure if the weather will be warm, so I wanted to make sure I had sunscreen as well, in case I need it. My question is, what if I need both? Can I wear both at once, or would they react with each other? I'm not used to using either, so I don't know what people usually do.

I've gotten a bug repellent that was both sunscreen and bug repellent in the camping section.  Worked well for me, but not sure if it works well or not when you use each one individually.

Exactly. They have 2 in 1 stuff that is perfect for you.  I even have some for my child, so if you happen to have sensitive skin, you can get the ones for babies because they are less irritating.  Always seems to work for us!

I'll have to look for 2 in one products. Do you know if there is anything natural for 2-in-1? I try to always use natural stuff.

Yep!  I know there is one called Badger and one called Squito Shield, although I would look at reviews first.  I haven't tried them myself yet.

Thanks I'll check those out. I hope they work. If not, I'll also be taking the regular stuff and hope I don't need both at once!

Avon carries bug repellant with sunscreen so you may want to try that they carry it in a lotion as well as a spray.

The Avon one is the one I used.  It works, but it is not all natural, I don't think.

Yes, I think that the 2 in 1 sunscreen/bug spray works very well. I have used it many times and I think it is useful. I recommend using it. It works great!
