Have any of you read about some of the items in the obama heealth care bill? Such as page 50/section 152: The bill will provide insurance to all non-u.s. residents even if they here illegally.

You have obviously fallen prey to all the lies being circulated about this and have most likely received/read one of the many e-mails out there that are nothing but bulls**t. I new this as soon as I saw the section you quoted and how you presented it. Read the actual bill and then come back here and state what it does say. I guarantee it will NOT make any mention of the 'lie' in your post.

Yeah, I agree. Here's the truth taken directly from factcheck.org:

"False: Illegal Immigrants Will Be Covered

One Republican congressman issued a press release claiming that "5,600,000 Illegal Aliens May Be Covered Under Obamacare," and we’ve been peppered with queries about similar claims. They’re not true. In fact, the House bill (the only bill to be formally introduced in its entirety) specifically says that no federal money would be spent on giving illegal immigrants health coverage:

H.R. 3200: Sec 246 — NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS

Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.

Also, under current law, those in the country illegally don’t qualify for federal health programs. Of interest: About half of illegal immigrants have health insurance now, according to the nonpartisan Pew Hispanic Center, which says those who lack insurance do so principally because their employers don’t offer it.

"Misleading GOP Health Care Claims" July 23

Hope that helps clear things up.

In general the government needs to butt out and allow people to handle their own business.  The government enables too many people, particularly under this president.

For a country as well off as we are, we have way too many people who are uninsured when it comes to health care. The problem with private insurance companies is that without regulation, they can charge ridiculous prices, drop people for whatever reason they want, and refuse to cover individuals with pre-existing conditions. So you could be paying your $600 a month premium, get cancer, get dropped from your insurance, and no other insurance company will help you out, leaving you with thousands of dollars of medical bills. That is not okay, and that is why I stand behind the health care reform.
