go with someone local, they are easier to deal with and find.

I use Geico.  Pricing is good and I've never had a problem with them.

I have been with State Farm for years.  No problems when I had to file a claim.  Pricing is really great.  Was looking to find another company to see if I could get a better rate and oh boy was I surprised and what I found.  Every company I got a quote from was at least 4-5 times more expensive for same coverage as I have.  Needless to say I am sticking with State Farm.

I have had State Farm for many years and could never beat the price or service. I have also worked filing medical claims for a physician for auto accidents, and they are the best and fastest payor with no questions asked. Excellent!

i've had progressive car insurance for the past few
years and they are by far the easiest customer service
reps i've ever dealt with! plus, their rates are unbeatable.
i pay $300 every six months for basic coverage.

they have an easy quote tool on their website so you can
preview exactly what you'd pay before signing anything.
oh, and they offer this little gadget that you plug into your
car, which monitors what kind of driver you are. i was leary
of it at first, but they just want to know if you're a wreckless
driver (break slamming, driving a lot between 12 & 4am, etc)
...its free and after i sent the device back, they credited my
account $40. i hear that MOST people get the credit after
they send it back for "good driving behavior"

i really like progressive. definitely checkout their website.

I was with Allstate for years then switched to State Farm and my insurance went down by like $50/m. I have auto/condo and man that was a nice relief. Not saying that would happen for everyone but it's always worth shopping for quotes.

see if there is a stewart valley and associates in your area. I go through them, and they branch through all different insurance companies. I have compared a quote with almost every insurance company listed here and they all charge more. They also cut you deals, like I sold my sunbird...But they told me in order to make my full coverage cheaper for my focus, it was required that I leave the sunbird on there, whether I sold it or not...
