I think a gap of ten years either way, once both are adults, is about as far as dating should go. After that, it starts getting weird like you are dating kids or parents. Now, if one half of the relationship is under 18, I think three years is a lenient limit. I know there are many scenarios in today's society where this is not the norm, but this is just my opinion.

It depends on how old the man and woman are. Is the man older and the woman younger, or is the woman older and the man younger. Are they in their 20s, 30s, 40s, etc.? I know a couple who have a 12 year age gap. He's in his early 40s, and she's in her early 30s, and they have a beautiful relationship. It just depends.

lol  I agree about it starting to get a little creepy.  I guess I would pretty much agree with these guidelines, but of course there are more important factors I guess besides age.

I took my wife out to dinner the other night and people were being rude and mean..calling me "pedo" and other stuff....just because I'm 55 and my wife is 21....totally ruined our 10 year anniversary....JUST KIDDING Y'ALL...my wife and I are 8 years apart and as long as you are both adults...age difference isn't much of an issue.

  I don't know, I don't think very young to very old is cool but in general whatever represents a genuine loving, respectful relationship is alright by me.  I think if there isn't a loving, genuine and respectful relationship then it doesn't matter if there is a gap or not.

Theoratically age is only a number. As long as both are adults and happy with each other the gap can be any number.

I think ten years is the most I would go, because people think differently depending on the what they grew up with. I hate seeing 18 year old girls with 40 year old men. I just don't get it!

For me I would date someone at the most ten years older, but that isn't my perference. I perfer someone my age or close to it. I couldn't date someone ten younger because they're still a teenager.

Actually, you really can't say how old or young the age gap should be for a couple to get together.  It all depends on the maturity of each person and why they are going into the relationship.  If they respect and care for each other, then the age gap is moot.
