This morning 2 pitbulls hit my picture window trying to get our dog. Scared us big time. Hubby went out and they were long gone. So glad they didn't break my window.

Was that one of your neighbors dogs? You have to be careful though sometimes a dog will try to return. A pitbull lives across the street from me and saw our Yorkie Pooh in the yard and came after him. I barely had time to get the pup and get in the house. I saw the owners and meantioned it to them. They say their dog is usually in the house.

That is scary

Wouldn't it be nice if owners actually took responsibility for their dogs?

True, a big problem with pit bulls is the type of people who have them as pets. Some people actually train them to be mean to people and other animals. However, there are owners who properly train their pit bulls and don't have any problems with them.

Geez, I hope  they find the dogs and their owners. I do not care what kind of dog someone has the owners must have their dogs under control or get rid of them. I am glad everything is ok.

It would just be better off not to have one because of the fight other dogs instinct. I was friends with one at the beach and someone stole it. we looked everywhere. I still hope we find her. she did like to scare people though.  :male: :dog:

??? I have heard alot of advocates for pitbulls but in central florida we have had a lot of pet deaths, some human deaths, children and adults attacks from pit bulls.  Personally I find them to be unreliable and scary dogs.  Everyone to there own but I would be really angry if I had a pit come after my dog and the owner say "its usually in the house" that would be small comfort if a pet or child were attacked - seriously injured or killed.  I don't know what the big attraction is but then I'm sure my post will make some people upset.  Its my personal opinion though.

It breaks my heart that pits get such a bad rep.  Ppl only ever seem to mention the breed if its a pit.  My pit it 2 an right now he's cuddled up with my kitten. I've never had better more well behaved dogs than my pits. They are extremly smart an amazing with my babies. I was bit by a chihuahua once Lol stick that in ur back pocket.  . .its not the breed its the way theyre raised. Any dog can be aggressive: )

Sounds like you better keep you dog away from that window. That is really a horrible situation. :sad1:

I'm sorry that happened to you, but I really hope it hasn't ruined your perception of pit bulls.
I grew up with them, and they're really the sweetest dogs.

In fact, when I was younger, I had a pit-mix and a German Shepard, and my German Shepard actually attacked the pit on more than one occasion...he just rolled over and took it.

Now, my mom has a pit/husky mix, my sister has a pit, and my step-dad has 3 pits.
They're all the most cuddle-friendly, loveable, sweetest dogs and it breaks my heart when people think pits should be banned or made illegal.
Pits aren't dangerous...it's the people that raise them to be mean.

Pits are very muscular dogs and have the POTENTIAL to be dangerous, but so do so many things in life.
Are we just going to ban everything dangerous from the world and all live in bubbles?

Doesn't sound much like living to me.

My son and daughter-in-law had a pit bull mix it was the sweetest dog. I think  a lot depends on how you raise and treat any dog as to wheather they turn out mean or not.

Ohio just passed a law making breed discrimination against the law so now it's going to be up to a lot of cities, towns etc as to what they're going to go about their pit bull laws.
