Promotion ???

So how does one get promoted fron "newbie" status and what does that promotion do for you ?!?!?!? I noticed that folk who joined after me are no longer newbies but I still am ....not that it matters but I am curious

The status you are referring to is only based on the number of posts you make here in the forum.  Other than increasing the stars by your name, there are no monetary or other kind of benefits besides showing others you are a very active poster.  As you can see now, you have made 50 posts and are now a "Junior Member".

Your status is strictly determined by the number of posts you have made in the forum. There are no monetary rewards from FC. Here's the breakdown:

Newbie                             1                                 1 - 49
Jr Member                         2                                50 - 99
Full Member                       3                               100 - 239
Sr Member                        4                                250 - 500
Hero Member                     5                                501 - 749
Elite Member                     6                                750 - 999

Gold Member                     8                                2000 +

The more you post, the faster you advance through the ranks (if you care- LOL!). There you have it.

Thanks for the insight !!! I figured there was no benefits tied to the status but it's good to know the progression ... if one cares

It is kind of neat because it marks your progression here - I've noticed those with higher status are also those who have earned quite a bit of money here by the time they have their four, five, and more stars.  I am heading towards the fifth category and just find it exciting.  It is neat to see a new subtitle by one's name!  Then there are those like Old Buddy who seem to have gone over and above~!
