Tax return checks

  I was just wondering if any one else ran into the same problem I'm having with my tax return check... I was told by H and R Block I would get my return back in 8-15 days, and it's already been 16... I was just told today that it will probablly take up to another week....

If you live in CA, all you'll get for your state return is an IOU.

Nope.  Ours was accepted Monday and it'll be here the 13th.

That sucks though, I'm sorry.  The IRS loves to give people the run around.

I usually get mine direct deposited. Takes about a week or so. Though, the IRS is very hypocritical. Not to get political... but if you owe, they hound you non-stop. If they owe *you*, you the "it just takes time" runaround. Took me six months last year to get my tax rebate check.

Haven't even filed yet. Dont plan on filing for another month or so. I never get jack back anyways, so I figure why rush

I filed about a week ago. They say my money will be direct deposited on the 13th. I'm in no rush, so if it takes longer, that is ok.

Go to IRS.gov  you can get the schedule there. You should have done direct deposit.

We had ours done Tues night at H&R Block. I think my husband said about 18 days. I haven't checked the schedule yet, but I know with direct deposit, we've never gotten it late.

I have not filed yet. I am actually forwarding all our information to our accountant (and IRS guru and all around godess  -- lol I really love her this time of year) to do that for us. She finds more money than H&RBlock! Anyways, she always has it direct deposit into our account.

Wow... my mom told me about that when we were talking about taxes! She said "You better file soon, because in some states all they're getting are IOUs!" I didn't really know whether to believe her... that's crazy!

I filed mine earlier this week... it took forever to get all of my W2s, since 2008 was a messed-up year for me employment-wise. Lost my long-term job & bounced around to a few temps before settling in at my current job. I hope to get my direct deposit in this next week! Much better than last year, when I owed over $800 due to an error on my tax filing form

yeah dont rush, work on it slowly and precisely.

The government pays checks on Friday.  If you did direct deposit you will received it on Friday.  If you are receiving it by check then you should get it by the Monday or Tuesday after the Friday it was written.  Hope this helps.

I filed mines last week and was told within two weeks it will be deposited to my account. I am in no hurry but will be happy when it is in my account. I definitely could use the extra cash - sent a little on myself and pay bills with the remainder.
