Astronomers have discovered over 700 planets just outside of our solar system alone. The most recent goldilocks planet they've discovered might even be supporting life right now. Check out "Kepler 22b" if you're interested-

  I have been keeping tabs on that for some time now and that's a small part of why I asked the "ufo/alien" question.  I'm trying to find a source for something I had heard...if I find it, we'll have to come back to this.

My belief is that we are in hell right now and if we can survive this hell enough, we get to go to Heaven.  This has always been my opinion, I don't know why, but I think it has to do with everything going on in the world.

Though you are completely entitled to your opinion, I find this a rather depressing way of looking at one's life. Bad stuff has happened all throughout history (much worse than how we have it today). This is the one life that you know you have. Shrugging it off as 'hell' and expecting to go to a imaginative happier one once you die seems wasteful, you know? Carpe diem!

I'd have to agree with seizing the day as opposed to hoping for improvements after one is dead.
