My husband has 5. 2 of them are red and black stars. The other 3 are for our kids. Our daughter's name in Hebrew (where her name originated), the DC shoe symbol (our son's initials are DC) and a dove because our youngest son's name means Dove. I like them all but I have to be honest that I think it takes away some. He didn't have them when we got married and I kind of miss seeing his "virgin" skin  ;) I do like what he chose to have put on his body though. I have talked about getting one with our anniverary and the name of our song but I'm just not sure. I would definitely say if you're not sure don't rush into it!!

I would check and see if it means princess in Japanese first... maybe the tat artist confused the two languages.

.try to get something you really like :angel11:

Yes, always do this. Also, get something original.  So many people end up getting generic, cookie cutter tats and many of them regret it in the future. If you pick a nice design that you like and have a good artist redraw it to your exact liking, you are sure to have an original piece that nobody will ever have, except you.

I agree with this very much! That's why I am designing all the tats I will ever get, and why my friends and brother come to me to design theirs.

My brother did get a tat that I did not design, he saw online. It is a "soldier's tombstone" by Shane Hart I belive. It's a machine gun with his barrel stuck in the ground surrounded by skulls. A helmet is on top of the butt of the gun, and dog tags are hanging from the magazine clip.

It takes up his whole length of his back. However, to make it original to him, he had the tat artist add another skull, and he is having me design a background of a war scene so it will cover his whole back.

I am conflicted about tats, yes I have 2 and getting 1 more. The 2 that I have are nice I have one one on my left ankle of a rose and a butterfly with my daughters name under it, I like it but it hurt like hell.  The other is a tiny one it's my wedding band and it's very plain with my husbands name one the palm side that one hurt way more than the other one.  The last one I want to get is of a tree frog on a dirt bike with my sons name somewhere, but I haven't found anyone who could draw to my liking plus the pain factor.  OK now why am I conflicted, I do understand that its art and that's all cool, but part of my family on my dads side are covered with them because they were free and my sister who is 3 yrs younger than me had 52 tats and they were not nice ones that was 5 yrs ago.  All I can say is I will be the one laughing when we are all old and all those tats are stretched out and gross looking...lol

Hey landjholm  Did your brother make it in? Did he take you to get your tat????

Yes, my brother made to the USA safely on the 4th, but he is stuck on base in SC until April. That's when he has his vacation, and he will then come up here to be with family before he is shipped out to his next assignment in Japan.

So I will be getting my tattoo in April when he comes up.
