Falcon u can use all the Big words u want lol u still gotta put ur hand on the Bible when u go to court

No one has to do so.  The only legal requirement in court is to swear to tell the truth under consequence of perjury.

and say Gods name when u say the pledge and spend money with Gods name on it...

Children are permitted to omit "god" in any pledge of allegiance. The Supreme Court has ruled on several occasions that students cannot be compelled to recite the Pledge, or punished for not doing so.  As far as spending legal tender with "in god we trust" printed on it; it would spend the same if it had "there will be the devil to pay" instead.

Ur in the minority and for all I care u and all the Non believers can go to north korea or somewhere where Christianity is rampant and stay over there wouldn't ruffle a feather in my hat at all

That's pretty much the opinion I'd expect a fundie fascist to espouse.  Fortunately, I'm able to oppose it because the U.S. is _not_ a fundamentalist theocracy.  Damn shame for religious nuts, isn't it?

They're equal they both rob?? Lol and still suffering from slavery?? Who still suffers from slavery? And falcon if u don't like the Christian beliefs in this country just move on over to north Korea they'll treat ya real nice over there hell maybe u can even be a English teacher with ur grammatical. Critiqueing and big words! And not many Christians there!!!! Perfect place for u!I'll even buy ya a plane ticket if u promise not to come back

"There is no legal requirement to swear an oath to tell the truth upon a 'bible'"

So what does it mean when they ask you "Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, SO HELP YOU GOD?"

"The US is emphatically not founded on Christian principles. This is explicitly stated in the Constitution, both in the First Amendment (“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;”) and in Article VI, section 3 (“…no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”) In addition, the Treaty of Tripoli, itself a legally binding document, bears these words: “As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion…”

Ummm....last time I checked, it was Christians who came here and declared this land as their own. That makes it based on Christianity since they would have, naturally, based laws and regulations on their own beliefs.

"Actually, since the U.S. is not a 'xtian' country, I'm free to "violate" any concepts of any specious religion should I choose to do so, (insofar as such does not violate secular laws).  Not only do I choose to do disregard the specious concepts of xtianity, I vehemently oppose them, (something the U.S. constitution permits)."

Well if it's ok to violate religious concepts, does that mean incest is ok? Would you like it if your dad was coincedently your brother? Incest is based on a religous concept, one that was mandated long before the studies showing genetic malfunctions from it.

"Your baseless opinion that such is a "god-given right" does not confer accuracy on it, (that is, it has no basis other than blind faith; which means it lacks a foundational basis altogether)."

If religion is so blind, then why is it that 3/4 of the world believes in a god? Why is it that we do, contrary to what you think, base our ways of living (laws and what-not), on concepts of religion? It's not a coincidence that we bury the dead in the ground. It has to do with religous beliefs stemming from thousands of years ago that we still implement. Your existence on this earth is a God-given right. Without god, you wouldn't be here. But maybe you don't believe in God? But isn't that blind as well? Can you prove or disprove the existence of God?

Yes there is what are u talkin about? U go into court before u can testify u put ur hand on the Bible... U go into court u put ur hand on the Bible no of and or buts...

Your ignorance isn't my responsibility; it's yours.  To reiterate, there is no _legal_ requirement to swear a testimony under oath by putting your hand on a 'bible' and mentioning any 'gods'.  If you wish to continue to dispute this point, look it up on an online legal site or, ask an attorney.

Sorry ur in the minority falcon... And as u see in history minorities finish on the BOTTOM and that's where u are and where ur stayin lolllll

While it does seem at times that reason is in the minority with regards to unreasoning ignorance, I never presume this to be the case unless pursuaded otherwise by the demonstration of ignorance.  As for the implied prejudice of your last comment; stupidity is it's own punishment.

And I'd love to see someone go into a court and say "Oh, I'm sorry, I'd rather not swear to tell the truth" and see how far it gets them!

I'm not denying his smarts. I just wish he would see that using big words doesn't mean his sh** don't stink! I know 10 year olds who have used the same words and concepts that Falcon has used in this discussion.
