i really don't care that they want to be together legally i just prefer that they call it something other than a marriage.

why?
people act like its going ruin the world just because of the differnt gender .what is so amazing about straight marriages half of them end in divorce most people get married to young and for the wrong reasons and have affairs so obvouisly we are serious about it.And  if god/allahh/the universe truly was a loving being he/she/it would give a f%#ck who love as  long as your LOVING INSTEAD HATING OTHERS

Basically I really have no opinion,as to what two consenting adults choose to do. If thats what they want to do, more power to them.

I agree with dreamongirl on this and my reasons are because I dislike the corruption of words.  This is an old progressive tactic to alter word usage and change the meaning over time (it also happens incidentally as well though).  Even words such as regulate have had their meanings changed from what they initially were and now people look back at The Constitution and try to interpret it to be other than what it was because of a modern definition to an older word.  Keep words as they are and add new ones when they are needed.  Since marriage cannot be between same genders and you wish to allow for the marriage privileges to same sex unions then come up with a new name instead of corrupting and changing the definition of an existing word.  If anyone is opposed to such a proposal then it is apparent that their intentions are not to gain the special privileges of married couples (as they claim), but instead something malicious.
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I dont really care about allowing gay marriages. I think we should just let people be what they wanna be. everybody deserves the freedom to do what he or she wants. The only think I am against is trying to include us straiights in accepting them.

In my opinion, if two people love eachother, they should have the right to get married, regardless of their gender. A large portion of the world's population is homosexual, bisexual, transexual, or pansexual. Because this portion is constantly growing, eventually, the straight community will have to accept it.

I do not  support nor believe in Gay "marriages. "  I believe this country is going in the wrong direction to have started allowing these marriages to take place.  I can not stand hearing about Gay couples being allowed to adopt children.  What ever happened to the belief that every child should be raised with both 1 father and 1 mother?   Also, I think it is wrong for companies to HAVE to provide insurance to these "marriages"   What is wrong with this country?  So many people these days are all about peace, happiness, let things be, no more do we hear of what is right and wrong, moral values.  People need to start reading their Bibles again, marriages have always been between men and women!!

This comment makes You look like you are such a bigot.  Do you even realize  how stupid you sound when you spew garbage like this?

i won't VOTE for it, or against it.
but i feel that way about anything that doesn't directly
affect me  :dontknow:  ...there have been gay couples
since the beginning of time and there will be until the
end of time, regardless of anyone's beliefs or opinions.

their voices have just gotten louder about it and you're
probably in denial if you haven't accepted the fact that
their voices are going to be heard and listened to...

womens rights movement? black civil rights movement?
that was generations ago. our generation is having theirs now.

So, what if a child is adopted by a man and a woman, but they abuse the kid? Is that okay? What about single mothers or single fathers? Should they not be allowed to raise their children because there's not another parent there of the opposite sex? Honestly, NO marriage, whether gay or straight, affects ANYONE but the people who are in the marriage. You should really re-read that Bible of yours. NO WHERE in it does it say anything about homosexual marriage. In fact, there are three relationships in the Bible that can be interpreted as homosexual. If we took the Bible as law, when a woman's husband dies, she would have to sleep with all of his brothers in order to produce a male heir. The Bible is a book about God, not about sexuality.

And, I don't know who your God is, but my God doesn't judge the children he created.

?? God judges everyone?? Lol prob one of the dumbest statement I've ever heard... God judges when people sin but forgives because Jesus died for our sin... And iono what Bible your reading But........
Of course they should. I have never heard an INTELLIGENT reason against it.

"If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination." (Leviticus 20:13).

"You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion. ‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you." (Leviticus 18:22-24).

"For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due." (Romans 1:26

Also someone said it only affects the people in the marriage......

Recently, cases of gonorrhea among gay and bisexual men more than doubled from 2009 through 2011 and chlamydia cases increased by at least 50 percent. The rate of gonorrhea in gay and bisexual men in King County now is at least 10 times higher than in heterosexuals.

These stds are then spread around so..... You can say it don't affect others but yeah u wrong and to Signapi1501 there's you an INTELLIGENT answer Against it dawg heh

Cubboo... you cherry picked three things from the Bible which also tell you that it is EQUALLY wrong to wear blended fabric clothing. FAR from intelligent.

Also, your statistics about the clap are both irrelevant to the debate and no where near accurate.

Personally-I'm confused why it's an issue. At the core-it's two people who love each other and want to commit to a lifetime of doing so together.

there is only one marriage in the sight of God: between Man and Woman.
Our country has gone down in moral decay.
We will leave this mess to future generations IF we don't msake great effort to redeem our nation NOW.

Would you agree to having the exact same privileges/benefits as marriage but with it called another name?

which god? your making a lot of people suffer under a  god we do not all agree exist. And for those who do Wouldnt god/allah/the universe or whatever deity you believe in want all his children to be happy if god hates people because there a little different than that is a god I do not any part of.There not hurting anyone if you want a gay marriage its simple do get one but dotn deprive others of being happy.they should have the right to have thier commitment recognized by the law.I know gay couples who have been together longer than straight ones .They make great parents who raise law abiding citizens who love the neighbors and contribute to the community. The arguement that being raised by gay people will make them gay is ridiculous. All straight dont have straight kids obviously so the arguement is illogical .I think I need to stay away from this topic its to stressful to be around intolerence
