What is up with all these pop up menus claiming you won stuff?

i can't stand pop up menus.  i'm guessing they sponser the website they are poping up in but have you ever actually tried to fill one out?  The ones that claim you won a free prize force you to buy three different things to actually let you accept whatever you won.  Although you can pick what you've one (in some cases) you have to waste money to get it.  That's why I never do them.  And if I get a phone call I just delete the number.

All you have to do is close them. We have to allow pop-ups for some of our offers to approve. I used to hate them, too, now it's just natural for me to close them.

I hate those things. "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE WON!" blah blah blah. No, I didn't win. If I had won, you wouldn't be demanding me to fill out a billion offers and spend my money just to get what I allegedly won. NO THANKS. I ignore them, but I wish they would just stop all together. What's really annoying too is things that you get something free, when really not a single bit of it is free. LIES!!

When I first got on the internet 15+ years ago, I used to pay attention to those and probably filled one or two out before I realized the mistake I was making. Now, I just close them.

They are annoying.  The ones that keep "re-popping" when you close them, even more so!  But, like most people, I just close them and move on.

From experience I'dsay stay away from them and stick to what you originally started out to do.

I find them annoying and irritating.  Just as you are doing something else online, these stupid popups are there in the way.  I never look at them, I immediately close them.
