There are soooo many ideas!!! The Backyardigans on dvd were great for my youngster. Full of music! Also, Doodlebops, Wonderpets, & playing cd's in the room when the little person is playing. Kids learn to sing the alphabet, count, etc.
Best wishes

Well you can look at her low span as a good thing. My son will not sit and watch anything on tv for more than 5 minutes and even then it better be bright and a good song along with it otherwise he's immediately bored so in that sense I am grateful as they keep linking obesity with kids sitting around.

One thing that entertained him for 30 minutes and he'll pull out now and then is connect four, games with pieces that take them a bit to figure out help challenge and stimulate them a bit

You might want to look into Montessori learning. It follows the interests of the child in their learning.

Since she loves music, sing to her the word or phrase you want her to learn.

She will probably mimic you. When she hears and sees your enthusiastic response to her "word", she most likely will do it again!  Repeat!
