Remembering Challenger
« on: January 27, 2012, 05:53:00 pm »
The Space Shuttle Challenger explosion was twenty six years ago tomorrow, January 28, 1986.  I remember that day as though it were yesterday.  I was in the third grade.  My classmates and I were watching the shuttle launch at school.  We were so excited to see Christa McAuliffe, the first teacher launch into space! Tragically, this was not to be.  As we pause to reflect on and remember the Challenger tragedy, please share your thoughts and memories of the sad day.

I'm not sure I'd travel in anything built by the lowest bidders however, I respect the courage of those who do and died doing so.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I will always remember both: Challenger and Columbia. NASA always tried to do a good job and they did with the rest of the other shuttles. Both disasters will  remain in our hearts.

I was only a few months old when this happened. Such a tragedy. :( I can't watch the launch video without wanting to cry.

This country was built on the shoulders of brave men and women. Those who gave their all in the space program and the testing after World War II in order to launch the space program were among the finest. THANK YOU! :notworthy:
