What do you do for a job?
« on: January 24, 2009, 09:21:47 pm »
Just out of curiosity, how many of you are unemployed, and are you unemployed due to the economy? If you have a job, what do you do and do you feel you have job security right now? One more question, do you have a degree?

Personally, I am unemployed but am a full time student. I also have a panic disorder so I don't hold jobs well. I lost mine five months ago and have found it VERY difficult to find work even with a degree. That is why I am here and everywhere else trying to make a few bucks.

I have a degree.  I've had several different types of jobs and currently I'm a flight attendant.  I've only been doing it for four months and I am thankful every day to have a job.  When I first started I was extremely worried about it lasting, now I don't worry so much.  It's not that I feel secure that I think I won't lose it but if it happens it's out of my control so I don't stress over it too much.  I'm just enjoying it for the moment and will cross that bridge if/when I get there.  My goal is to have several home business that bring in multiple streams of income so if I lose a job I still have other things to fall back on.

Wow, I'd be terrified to be a flight attendant but I imagine it's a fun job.

I'm a full-time mommy and wife :)

I'm the IT Administrator for a non-profit agency.  I feel pretty secure in my job, because without me the place wouldn't function  :)  But, due to the economy a lot of our funding's being cut or drying up, so I'm worried that the entire agency could just cease to exist one day.

Since I work for a non-profit, I'm not making as much money as I could be in the for-profit world.  That's why I come to FC to make some extra bucks.

I've got a BA and a bunch of Microsoft certifications as well.

Yes it's fun and I like it.

I do ChaCha as well.  It's not as good as it used to be and it takes so much longer for me to reach payout than when I first started last summer.  :(

I work for a christian distributor  in the accounts payable department, a non-profit orgination.  Times are rough right now.  People are getting laid off right now at the main office in Colorado.  I just had my hours cut starting in March.  Looking for a second job but right now it is a no go.  Just seems like things are going to get worse before it gets better.    :BangHead:

I"m a WAHM too.  Like a couple of you, I too work for ChaCha. And I agree that it has gotten hard to even want to log on!! For those of you who know it, I went from a Guide to an Expeditor and now my pay is only 3cents per msg!!!! PLUS, the more time that passes, the more "guide work" we expeditors have to do!! I rarely log onto ChaCha anymore!!  Fusion Cash is now my primary "income" source and I can't seem to find all the good offers that the rest of you are finding!! I try and try for the daily offers and end up getting rejected 98% of the time! lol.  I am thinking of looking into online college classes soon. Something I have just come across that I enjoy doing is baking/decorating cakes. I might take a class in that and see if I could possibly get good enough to start my own business. I just LOVE watching that show "Ace of Cakes" on the Food Network!!! They are AMAZING!!!
