Agreed concerning the WBC with an expanded caveat that one of the 'reasons' the WBC 'people' apparently seek media attention is to get away with not being fired upon by the military honor guard at such military funerals.  It's a good thing that a check is made to assure that blanks are being used by the honor guard instead of live rounds, (although firing blanks at the blank-minded WBC members would be appropriate too).

LOL, now you're making me wish I were an honor guard... ;D

I have pulled that duty and honor before.  Handing a folded flag to a widow or other family member without the disruption of a bunch of fundie yahoos the the ceremony is preferable to lowering the "saluting rifles" by just a hair's breadth.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make light of a terribly sad situation.   Just a few days ago I had viewed a few You- Tube videos of the Westboro's and the thought of them being at a funeral just to cause trouble...with rifles nearby...gave me wicked thoughts. :P

No worries, I didn't assume that you were being either facetious or, making light of it.

No doubt such "thoughts" occur to more than one honor guard member as well.  It's a good thing for the WBC fundies that soldiers have disipline drilled into them, (especially concerning not firing into a bunch of fundies unless ordered to).  Be that as it may, this video provides an alternate, (and 'ironic'), response to such fundie mind-blindness:

falcon9...thank you for that video.  I had NO idea anyone was doing something that awesome to "block" the WB's efforts.  All those flags make a beautiful 'barricade', the bikes, the love & support...what a wonderful group of guys!!

You're welcome.  Just goes to show that not all xtians are fundies and that I can recognise the difference, (however, I'm a trained observer and this should not be attempted at home by inexperienced amateurs <--obligatory disclaimer ).  The motorcycles drowning out the WBC's bigoted chants was also a nice 'touch' to the counter-'protest'.

You know your relgion is doing something wrong, when you make the KKK look like the good guys.

Good quotes Falcon. Religion can be a good thing, but more often than not it gets used to further people's agendas and justification for doing horrednous things such as wars.

If you're referring to a lack of evidence to support your religious assumption, then I concur.  If you're trying to tacitly distance yourself from your fellow fundie xtians, it didn't work since the underLying basis for the common religion remains.
