Have you ever had names for your cars?
« on: January 08, 2012, 08:11:11 am »
Some people have cute or fancy names for their cars.  We always called our vehicles by their brand names, except for one convertible, and that was the convertible.  The rest of them have been called the Ford, chevie, etc.

Never, but we used to watch a TV show back in the '60s called "My Mother the Car" with Jerry Van Dyke, *bleep* Van Dyke's brother. It was hilarious.

When I was in high school, lots of my friends had names for their cars - the cutest was Tildy.  I don't remember what kind of car it was but we had lots of good times in it.

Usually I just name them after the make and model of the cars I've owned! It's fun to name a car! When you meet new people and you tell them the name of your car they either laugh or look at you strange!  :o

I don't believe I ever named any of my cars.  Like others I just call them by their make or model.

Yes my 2nd car was a whilte buick le sabre after driving a white chevy nova so I called this beast of a car the White Buffalo.  I got to admit I grew to love this car after I got it out on the highway and opened up the 4 barrel 454 to full blast as the mile posts became a blur.  She could move when she was given her head that's for sure.

I have never given specific names to any of my vehicles.  But when they won't start,  I call them several colorfull and unprintable names.

I've never named any cars but when I was a kid my mother had a Datsun B210.  I used to call it the bumpy car.  It was a small car and stick shift and you felt all the bumps it went over.  I remember her calling other cars Betsy especially when they started to break down and we were trying to get it going.  She'd say come on Betsy.

Betsy seems to be a popular name for a car.

I remember that t.v. show - My Mother The Car.  Jerry VanDyke is a very funny man.
