Happy New Year!  Wow another year has come and gone.  It seems like the older I get, the faster the years go by.  Hoping that this is a blessed year, not the end of the world as some claim it shall be. :-

The perception of years passing more quickly than when we were younger is due to the proportion of a year to our increasing age.  When we were ten, a year was only 10% of our lives.  When 20, a year becomes 5% of a life and when 60, it's only .6% of the elapsed lifespan.


Unless something untoward occurs, the Mayan long-count calendar had a previous cycle to the current one and another long-count cycle follows this one on 12-22-12.

Thanks for the nice thought.  Happy New Years to you as well.  Oh, BTW, I did get a kiss from a special person at midnight.  Unfortunately my girlfriend caught me and she hasn't talked to me for over 24 hours.... guess I should be a bit more careful next year!
