College Help anyone who has been or has good ideas

I am preparing myself for getting a degree as reading specialist . I am looking for textbooks to use.I can not get back into school for another year so my old adviser suggested that I create my own syllabus .Any suggestions on what books or materials I should use online or otherwise.I am at a lost.I thought of using Norton Anthologies
