Pet Peeve: New topics posted in the wrong category!

Has anyone noticed how many members are starting new topics like this one apparently without reading the following:

   Off-Topic
Feel free to talk about anything unrelated to FusionCash -- but keep it PG!

People! Are you paying attention to the little sentence UNDER the main topics before you start a new topic? Just checking recent new topics posted, many of you apparently have no clue.

Just thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention and start a discussion.

It will all get worked out. Most that do that are new to the site and do not understand it all just yet. Just with any other thing you have to have patient. Usually with in a few days they start posting the topics in the correct spots.

Truthfully, I wouldn't waste any energy getting irritated.  People eventually figuring things out and all works out in the end. I have so much else to concentrate on that is important to me that I couldn't possibly place any importance or energy on being irritated with something as small as this.  I do know that some days things that wouldn't ordinarily irritate me do, but then I look to see what is going on with me. Not out in the world to see what others are doing wrong.  Happy Holidays!

If you're referring to "what color are you eyes" "favorite food" in the offer section type of posts then, yes, I get a little annoyed sometimes, but not much. I have a feeling people are just trying to get away with increasing their post count for the forum bonus. As i don't think you can increase it from posting in the off-topic section. It usually never seems like it bothers anyone though, and i never see a mod moving threads to the off-topic section.

YEP! Bothered by it, too  Nope, not just you!....

I didn't get much response, & I ended up feeling sort of like I was being too nit-picky since it doesn't seem to bother anyone else much.

So now at least we both have company in our irritation by "Posts in the Wrong Topics"

Really? I did not know that...I thought all posts were eligible, no matter what section they were in.  Hmmm....I'll have to go read up on that again. Thanks for mentioning this, I would never have known otherwise!

i never see a mod moving threads to the off-topic section.

Yeah, why is that? (Although I'm sure they have plenty to do without adding this task to their day!)

I posted a discussion about the problem a couple of months back myself. It does bother me some. I also was trying to be helpful. I got very few responses to my post but those who did post thanked me for mentioning the problem.

Do people not read?

I posted a discussion about the problem a couple of months back myself. It does bother me some. I also was trying to be helpful. I got very few responses to my post but those who did post thanked me for mentioning the problem.

Well, reading and comprehension are two different things. Thanks for commenting. I pretty much just ignore new topics that are posted in the wrong category. I figure if you can't take the time to think about which category you should start a thread, why should I take the time to post a reply. As you said, it's not just the newbies that do this, it's also some members that have been posting for a while and should pay closer attention. Another thing to remember is that once you start a new topic, it cannot be removed by you. It's not a big deal, but it is rather irking I guess, at least for me.

I must just be noticing this more lately, but this problem seems to be getting worse and worse.
I personally would be kind of embarrassed if I started a topic in the wrong board/section (whatever), and then there it is forever and ever for everyone to notice and see...

Especially annoying to me are (and there is A LOT of these) the topics that are off-topic being started in places where we go to find answers, not to find conversations or discussions about anything under the sun.

I'm thinking I better learn to ignore this....it's apparently not changing very quickly.

Are the people who are doing this reading this topic, and our posts?
