Death (bad things) come in three's
« on: December 21, 2011, 05:57:19 pm »
Have you seen this in your experience?  I lost an uncle in November. I just lost an aunt yesterday, my brother lost his great aunt two weeks ago (we have different father's so this was his father's aunt).  I had another uncle had to be rushed to the hospital last week and had surgery but thankfully he is ok.  After my uncle died I was just bracing myself just waiting for the next and sure enough that's three family members dead within a month.

I never had a death come in three. However, bad things happen in threes with my family. Recently The water faucet broke off causing a huge water bill, then the car broke down, then we had to send a laptop in to get fixed. All three with in the same month.

I think just sometimes people have bad times. It's the world we live in.

yes, i've seen/heard that quite a bit in my life.

my grandmother (dad's mom) and my own mother both
passed away two days apart in 2006, completely unrelated
circumstances. everyone was on edge because of the "3,"
wondering what was going to happen next.

i had actually just attended a funeral for one of my close friend's
grandmothers a few weeks before that, and now this friend
was attending my family's. her and i even discussed the 3's...

[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

If bad things come in 3's; does that mean that "good" things come in 3's also??? :dontknow:

I have seen deaths come in 3's on a number of different occasions. I have also seen car accidents come in 3's. My mother-in-law were just talking about this today. It is pretty crazy!

I spoke too soon.  I received a call yesterday afternoon that a good friend of ours dropped dead.  My husband was just with him the day before and he said he was feeling the best he has in quite a while.  He may have had a stroke.  Oxygen had been cut off from his brain so long that he was brain dead.  RIP, Jim Bob.  You will be greatly missed. :'(
Have a wonderful day!

Sorry to hear that gaylasue.  I'm still a little on edge thinking who's next and I shouldn't think about that but I can't help it.  I totally forgot that another aunt died over the summer but I never met her since she lived on the west coast and I'm on the east.  My family is getting old and I have a lot of family members in their 70's and 80's and one uncle in his 90's.  My aunt's funeral may be on Xmas Eve so I may have to travel the 7 hours tomorrow if that's the case.  It had been several years since a family member died.  Now to get hit with several in the last few months I just feel like I am going to be losing them all in a short period.

Dia Del Muerte celebrates death and I think that embracing one's entrance into the after life keeps one from fearing it.  Live your life to the fullest, set a positive role model for those around you, and enjoy every nuance of life and be there for the ones that are suffering through a loss but try to paint it as a positive experience rather than a bad thing.  My belief is that we are headed to a better place if we do our best in our current situation.
