I know the Mayans were intelligent people but it's hard to believe they could predict a specific date for the end of the world that far in advance.

Well the science says a little differently watchthe history channel and the clues the Mayans left us behind.  The biggest one being the Mayan Calander ending December 21 2012.  it's a little scary!!!

Only God knows the day and time. I still don't think the world will end, Jesus will come and take the good people and bad people will stay behind. Good people will go to a different world where there will be no pain, no suffering while the bad people will stay on this painful world.

Maybe it will be the end of the world as we know it. What with global warming, the general state of unrest in the world, the depleting of the world's resources, etc. Maybe we will move into a new way of living? It is going to be very interesting.......that is, if I am still alive in a year's time

I don't believe that anything dramatic will happen at the end of 2012.  I believe we've been experiencing shifts and changes for years and we may experience change because change is inevitable but I don't think it's ever a good idea to promote fear.  Changes can be subtle and for the best.

Well according to some dude who made a big deal about it, the world was supposed to end in the mid 70s so I am not convinced.
