Being a dog owner, the fact that other dog owners let their dogs run loose irritates me.You never know if the  dogs running around are immunized. It's scarry not only where my pet is concerned but also concerns me for the well being of my kids.

Well I know what you mean...way back when I had 3 cocker spaniels.  We had a fenced in yard.  Well our neighbors got a pup that was the worst behaved dog I'd yet seen.  This thing would run and hook it's legs over the fence and climb over.  Landing in our yard.  I was getting more and more irritated as this thing was getting into my yard treating my dogs like chew toys.  Than one day I came home from work and low and behold the dog was once again in my yard.  This time my dogs were in the house.  I grabbed a hold of the dogs collar (Which now they were using a choke collar) Walked her over to the neighbors.  There 3 young boys were home alone and I said you're dog was over in my yard again.  They all started arguing while the youngest of the 3...maybe 8 years old at the time.  Grabs a stun gun and aims towards the dog.  I let go, the dog took off and I was out of there.  It was sooooooo irritating.

Dogs off the leash can be really scary~you never know when they might run into another animal aggressive animal!  I knew someone who had a dog that was in their own back yard when a dog wandered into it and their dog killed it.  It was horrible and everyone felt horrible, but their dog was doing what it was supposed to, protecting their property.  If that other dog didn't wander away from home, it would still be alive!  You just have to make sure your dog doesn't get away!!! So sad.

I don't like to see them running loose . I believe they should be taken care of. I also believe if you can substantiate that the dog has no owner-- the Humane Society should be called.

I'm okay with dogs, they'll usually shy away from you.
But cats think they own the place and will just stay out of arms reach; they I will shoot at.
Got a lot of rabbits in my neighborhood as well, digging up all sorts of things.

Good thing my 5 cats catch rabbits, squirrels and snakes.
They are all fixed and do not spray, just come home to eat and get some loving before going to bed.

I have a pure breed Akbash, which is a Turkish dog, bred to guard livestock against coyotes, wolfs bears etc. She is never allowed to leave my property unless on a leash. There are many roaming dogs as well as coyotes in this area but they don't come near my place any more........Maggie likes to dis-assemble them.

I'm sure that it is not entirely the owners fault. Perhaps there is a hole in their backyard where the dog is able to escape from. I know that training certain dogs can be quite difficult. My dog actually runs loose sometimes. I wish he wouldn't though because it is quite embarrassing. I get tempted to play with the loose dogs.

If the dog runs loose, it is absolutely the owners fault.

Being a pet lover, I had to look up some photos/information on that breed because I had never heard of it before...some of the photos have the dogs almost looking like a large, white, longer haired labrador retriever!  The breed is gorgeous!!  They look like fun, loving dogs!  I bet your Maggie is a great dog!!

Yeah Maggie is often mistaken for a pure white Lab. What's amazing to me about her is that when she is in the house she is very laid  back almost lethargic, lays right at my feet and refuses to move(even to me), however when shes out side she's "on the job" with high energy and constantly alert to any perceived threat to my livestock.

I love animals, but I don't think dogs should run loose in neighborhoods. Children are very inquisitive, and they might appraoch a dog with a mean attitude.

I love dogs, but I'm terrified of stray dogs...especially rottweilers or pit bulls...even though I have had both breeds as pets.
