important rules question
« on: December 14, 2011, 10:24:05 pm »
Ok so I never had the toolbar before but I downloaded the new one..

My question is this - I travel to my sisters house alot, she is a FC member (not so active but still registered). While there I have my laptop with me but I NEVER log into fusion cash because I dont wanna break the rules and get my, or both of our, accounts deleted.. But now I noticed even when logged out of FusionCash the toolbar remains on and still shows my balance and everything, so even if I never log in while at my sisters house, will this now show up as a violation (2 accounts 1 house/ IP) even if I dont ever log in or use FC while at her house??? its never been an issue before because I simply dont use or log into FC while there, but now even if not logged in it appears FC is still running on my computer via the toolbar..

What should I do? Im going there soon for christmas and dont wanna mess up my account because a stupid toolbar is on as my account while in the home of a different member...

I found out the other day that the toolbar doesnt actually mean your log in cause i did a search under it and i didnt log in so i never gain the search thou i already meet my max for that day early!!! So i would say that you should be safe as long as you offically dont log in on the Fusion Cash webpage!!! Or use the toolbar just in that sense at all!! But if your not sure i would delete it for the time being and when you get back home just reinstall!!

You may not have to uninstall/reinstall.

If you click on the "View" link at the top of your window, one of the lines will be "Toolbars".  Click on "Toolbars" and a list of the open toolbars on your window will show.  Simply click the FC toolbar off. (ie so the check mark is gone)

Believe this disables the toolbar so it will not be sending out queries over the web and you won't be tempted to use it.
When you get home, just click the FC toolbar on again.

I would still like an FC Admin, however, to confirm that this is necessary.

Makes sence, but yeah I would like an FC administrator to confirm this.. for now im just gonna delete the thing completly before I go an re install when I come back because I dont wanna take the risk of ruining my account for no real reason over a toolbar I wont be using while there anyways..

I received a response from FC Support on this topic:

"The toolbar does not actually log you in to FC. You can have it running on a laptop you use at a friend's place if you like. Hiding the toolbar via the 'view' menu cuts off the toolbar's communication with the outside world, so if you want to be extra careful, you can do that. There's no need to uninstall."

Thanks for the info! Good to know.
I uninstalled it while I was out of town and reinstalled when I came back, just to be sure, but now I know that wont be necessary in the future, I will just hide it from the "view" menu.

That is what I did hide the toolbar, and not uninstall it.  Then when I want to use it again I just need to unclick the "hide the toolbar".
