I don't understand why anyone would want any kind of gift card over cash. I mean, you could even just buy the card with your cash... Plus it's just easier dealing with cash.

I think cash will always win in the long run.  But if we had the option to purchase gift cards like as a gift--in the name of someone, etc.  Might save a step of work for some people.

I'm not sure either. I requested a cashout and it is still pending for two weeks... how long does it take until the pending becomes confirmed?!?!

And someone mentioned about a check in the mail... that's another nice option.

Nor do I. But then not everyone functions in a normal capacity.

Lol, I'm actually waiting to hear a good reason for this to be done.

I like to get Amazon cards more than cash. If I get cash, I tend to spend it on things I need, rather than "frivolous" purchases. With an Amazon card, I can get something special for myself, things that I don't feel are important enough to spend hard-earned money on. (I grew up poor, and am very frugal!)
In response to Admin's post above, Amazon cards don't cost anything extra if you email them to the recipient.

I DID not know that about amazon cards not costing anything if emailed to recipient. Where do you find more information about that?

Perhaps to give as a gift?

Just go to Amazon and read more about it. I've sent Amazon cards as gifts in the past, and never had to pay anything. You can even get free shipping by regular mail, although I don't know if there is a limit as to how much you can send.
