ears pierced or not?

Im 43 and have never had my ears pierced, I read somewhere that approximately 85-90 % of women have them pierced.  I am considering getting them done, but can't make up my mind if I want to bother with them or not?  Whats your feedback on ear piercing?

I never had my ears pierced either, and I'm 41.  I never really had the desire.  I'm not really a jewelry type of gal.  I like a nice necklace, and love my watch...but that's about it.  I was also a lab rat, and jewelry and machines didn't mix too well.  I now work at a computer, but still really don't have the desire for bling.  I'll wear some when I dress up, but keep it minimal.

I tried clip-on earrings when I was younger, and I really didn't like having things hung on my ears.  I doubt I'll ever pierce myself just because it's not me.

If you like earrings, having the piercings will give you more options.  I also heard that if you don't like it and stop putting in the earnings, the holes eventually close (I think this only works early on - that if you have them pierced for years, then the holes will stay - but don't quote me on that).  Both my sisters have pierced ears and they like it.

I like the variety of earrings, to design my ears with. lol! i have 2 holes in each ear. I recently been considering a 3 hole torn the middle area on my ear. why? I like designing my ears.... i have seen peoples with 4 and 5 holes in one ear, I want go as far as three.

I have pierced ears. I have too many holes from botched attempts.If I had to do it over again I would not get them pierced. I read somewhere it is better not to pierce your ears.  My daughter will not pierce hers.

I have had my ears pierced for many years.

I wear simple earrings everyday.  I like to wear a little bling when I dress up.

Occasionally I go a day without earrings, and "the hole" mentioned is barely visible even though I've them pierced for years.

i have pierced ears once on each side. but i can only wear small earrings because when i was little my cousin accidently ripped one out so now my hole is really big and it looks like the earrings going to fall out.....woops

I'm 56 and have had my ears pierced since I was 16. I didn't like clip on earrings because the felt to heavy. It only take about 4 week for your ears to heal and you can wear some of the cute earrings for any occasions. Go to a professional to have it done, don't do it yourself.  Just remember that it you do it clean with alcohol at least 3 times a day to help it heal faster.

Yes my ears are pierced ... actually 4 holes in each ear .. wear a hoop on the bottom one and have 4 small round earrings in the over 3.

At 42 I had a mid life crises --  LOL --- and got my belly button pierced ... I still have it at 52 and love it.

Having your ears pierced is a personal preference that only you can decide.

If you get your ears pierced and decide you don't like it ... you can simply remove them and they will close up if you just got them done.

I know this because one of mine didn't line up so I took it out after the first day and it was closed within a week ready to redone the right way

If you like change it's a good thing to get it done. I had mines done since I can remember. But,it's easy and its safe. Once you get it,I think you will be glad you did. If you don't like it,you can always let it close back up.

I got my ears pierced when I was 17 and it was a very good decision...Personally I think that pierced earrings look a lot better than clip ons and you don't loose them nearly as much.

Do you wear earrings (clips) regularly already? If it isn't something you are going to do regularly don't do it.  I was never interested in earrings or pierced ears I'm not a jewelry wearing person.  I got my nosed pierced in my 20's and my boyfriend at the time pressured me to get my ears pierced too he said I wouldn't look right with a nose ring but not my ears so I did it.  I regret it because I developed keloids behind both ears and had to have them frozen off.  I let them close up and never wore earrings again.  You may not have the same experience but you went 40 some years without them pierced it seems if it was something you really wanted to do you would have had them done way before now.

My ears are pierced. I have 4 on the left and 2 on the right (used to be 3 but the hole closed up, need to get it repierced). I like having pierced ears 'cause earrings are really the only jewelry I wear.

I love having my ears pierced, I actually have 3 holes, there are so many pretty earrings, I don't always wear 3 pairs at a time, but sometimes it is fun to do so. I can't imagine not having them pierced. I say go ahead and have them done, it is fun to shop for earrings.
