I am so grateful someone invented gift bags!!  I always hated wrapping gifts.  I think that is because, many years ago when I stayed with my in-laws when my husband was in the military (HATED it!!), my mother-in-law had me wrap most of her stuff, too,  because she said I was good at it.......

i'm gonna be honest... i love big, bold, bubbly patterns
and colors. the bigger the bow, the better! i will use
big thick ribbon that matches the paper and make my
own bows to save money. i put as much thought into
the wrapping as the gift itself... that's just me  :)
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I completely understand. I was the designated wrapper in my family, and it got old fast. They ruined something i loved! but since that was years and years ago, it is not ruined any more :)

I definitely bag a lot more than I did years in the past, especially when I get bags from others (so I can re-use). I typically only wrap with theme paper when the item is big or is an assortment of clothes, but I compliment this with a card and stick em bow (I'm poor at ribbons).

I am the same way with bags. I tend to get them , so I save them and resuse them. I also only buy wrapping paper after christmas and look for neutrals that can be used year round (like solids). Why pay a premium when they practically give it away once the season is over.  ;D

I still like to wrap presents for kids, but it seems most people have started using bags instead. I like those too, and often re-use them.
I love seeing my grandchildren tair the wrapping paper out. I don' thank they look at the beautiful kinds of paper. Their more
interested in getting to the present. Which is all good to see their faces when it's open.

I cant use bows or ribbon bc my cat eats them!

You're not kidding! Our cat once ate a lot of ribbon, and had to have an operation to remove it. Scary...

I like to use paper that relates to the real reason for the holiday. Angels, nativity scenes, etc

I never wrap gifts, at least not with wrapping paper.  It's wasteful!  I prefer going with gift bags.  It's easier, and there's no waste involved.

That is what scares me! Sorry that it happened to you. My cat is awful about eating weird things and I know one day he is going to be in trouble!

I used to do the wrapping paper thing, but not anymore.  I usually take gift boxes, put my baked goods in, tape shut and a nice bow and have a present.  Very easy to do.

We have this thing going - we use the same bag year after year - doing our bit for recycling! It has become a sort of game - one year I give it to you and the next year you give it back to me. It cuts down on having to buy paper and bows and ribbons

I bought a lot of pretty wrapping paper last year when it went on sale.  I like to wrap my gifts but if I have pretty gift boxes I just put ribbon and name tag on it and it works quite well.
