Job Interview Tomorrow

Any tips  I'm kind of nervous because I haven't had a interview in a long time since I've been at the same job for several years.

Well, if you have a friend/family member/clergy nearby that would be able to give you a practice interview, that should help. My dad often does that for people because he's upper management and has interviewed a lot of people for positions in his department. Perhaps, you know someone like that who would be willing to help you prepare.

You can find me on Youtube!

My tips to you would be to have a practice interview with a friend. Also prepare for the interview, and what I mean by prepare is to be on time for the interview because it is very important, and remember to bring an extra copy of your resume. Next, try to remain as calm as possible during the interview. Also remember during the interview keep in mind these things:

-Stand Tall
-Make eye contact
-Shake hands firmly
-Be polite

this is your chance to make a great impression and get the job you want. Make sure that you are well prepared...be confident and give it your best.

keep a positive attitude, greet with a firm handshake, only answer questions asked, don't overdo it. Keep eye contact (shows interest)
Never say anything bad about your former employee, just leave it at it was a learning experience, and don't be afraid to ask questions.
----If at anytime you become nervous repeat this to yourself: I am, I can, I will, and I am deserving of this opportunity that's given to me.--

All the best

Poise. Measure your answers and be honest. No matter what anyone says, you just don't do yourself any favors b/sing through an interview. Sometimes, perceived weaknesses are actually strengths. I was in the same boat you were...transitioning from something I was doing for years into an entirely different field. It ended up in my benefit because my new (now former) company was looking for easily trainable people (i.e. no experience!). Yeah, it doesn't work that way always, but the idea holds true: be honest and show them why you're an ideal candidate, experience be damned. Good luck!
