Why there'll never be real unity in this country
« on: November 29, 2011, 10:28:11 pm »
The media is always talking about how Americans should all be united, and politicians shouldn't be so partisan. But that will never change. You can't have unity when half the population is on the take, and the other half is being taken from. The two sides necessarily have opposite views about what should be done; the one side doesn't want to lose any of their "entitlements," and the other side doesn't want to see more of what they worked so hard for taken from them without any benefit to themselves.

Our government was designed so that it would be difficult to pass new laws as in general such things are bad and can only steal our freedom.
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I agree wholeheartedly. The root cause is the massive giveaway programs that have created a mass of useless individuals who no longer seek to maintain themselves. The liberals love this, because the more people they make dependant on their programs the more they justify their existence. It is a vicious cycle. It's a shame, because they could spend as much money and effort on promoting people educating themselves so they could become self sufficient.

GREED is so rampant in this nation, its a wonder it doesn't implode from the inside.  The government doesn't give a damn about the people they are suppose to support while in office.  Its all about what they can get for themselves.  THe last thing they want to do is work together, the pettiness and control freaks would never allow it.

I've heard a lot of people say that we need to get rid of everybody in politics and start fresh, but what really needs to happen is for the people to change their attitudes. If all Americans would regain self respect, and get over their laziness and apathy, maybe we could turn this country around. But it's never going to happen with everybody depending on the greedy politicians to change anything. It certainly won't be changed for the better.

It's very hard for different sides to agree on anything since their views are often so polarized. But it's really counterproductive and annoying sometimes as these conflicts often get in the way important issues that need resolutions.
