It seems the union is hell-bent on dissolving the current system.  Too bad because I thought they were close to an agreement but now it appears they are miles apart... again.  I would be very surprised if either side caves at this point and that means no basketball this year.

I think the season is a lost cause at this point. I will just spend more time watching football and college basketball.

Yes and the true losers are neither the players or the owners but the folks trying to make a living selling the concessions, tickets, etc.  Shame on them.

Personally; I like college basketball better!!!  The NBA are overpaid and over rated!   :bootyshake:

The players have to be less selfish. They are not in position like the NFL. Almost 75% of the teams lost money last year in
the NBA.

I feel that the NBA players are greedy.   They are over paid as it is and they should be grateful for the money they make.  Maybe they should cap their pay and they could get down to playing the game.

The NBA is not that exciting anyway, I am kind of glad there is no season.  That should give the NHL momentum to get more fans.  But i do agree that the people who work at the NBA arenas are getting the shaft mor than any player or owner.

I don't see any compromise coming soon, but honestly I don't care. I LOVE basketball, but NBA is hardly even the real game anymore. I'll stick with college ball  ;D

Bunch of greedy players. It's going the way of the nhl. The players will hold out for more and end up getting less than they could've got in this last deal.

Let's see.  In the NFL, only 2 teams did not turn a profit two years ago and only one last year.  In the NBA, 17 of the 30 teams lost money two years ago and that number increased to 22 last year.  The highest valued team is between 600-700 million in the NBA while in the NFL, the lowest valued team is a smudge over 700 million.  And we wonder why we are watching pro football and no basketball.

I never really watched it anyway. But I agree with the poster that all the people that would normally be working at these events lose out.

I think that it is beyond hope and am now cheering the lockout on.  I will not watch basketball unless there is absolutely nothing else on.  I stopped watching baseball after the last strike and have never returned.  Football would be a bit tougher but I would reduce the number of times that I watch it. As it is, right now, I only watch football three or four times a season.  These billion dollar babies need to realize that life goes on without them.  Maybe people will discover that there is a life outside of their television.

If there's no NBA season next year I'll be pleased as punch.  I do feel bad for all the local economies that'll take a hit, though.
