Don't feel bad about it all customers feel that they are the only one that you're servicing therefore expects you to remember them. In my case, I remember faces but can't ever remember the names that goes with the faces. LOL. A good trick that I use to remember people I meet, I look for something that I can associate the person with. Like, a lady always comes in wearing cow girl hat, or this person wears a unusual smelling perfume, or this person comes in with 5 noisy kids every time. All in all, don't take it to heart, you're only 1 person & you don't have photographic memory so....just let go.

I would not be offended if you didn't remember me, unless we were friends, then it'd be weird.  I actually prefer anonymity.  Personally I wouldn't remember people.  I'm a things person.  I'm the one you want with you when you put something down in an unusual place then don't remember where you put it.  I have a camera in my head and will remember where it is.  Putting names to faces is quite another matter.  Change your clothes/hair/hat and you're a different person.

I don't remember if I get the same cashier so I wouldn't be offended at all. Unless you've known them for years it's not a big deal.

No not at all i would not be offended I mean they see so many people i may be a little hurt if I was an extremely frequent customer but no i would not be mad at all dont take it personally at all this is life

I certainly would not be offended. I would be glad that you thought to ask me again. Especially, if it was important to me.

No way!  Been in sales in one form or another and I've done it many times.  A smile usually does the trick.

No, because I'm terrible with faces and would be a hypocrite if I got upset.  Plus I've worked in sales as well, it becomes almost second nature to ask that question or push that product.

I wouldn't care if you remembered me or not.  But the same spiel each time I come to your counter would bother me.  Its annoying and irritating.

I wouldn't be bothered at all. I imagine being a checker is a stressful job. I've witnessed a lot of customers being complete jerks to checkers. I recently stood in line behind this guy who wouldn't let the checker take anything out of his basket and was freaking out about her not touching anything he was buying, so she was carefully trying to count the items and scan them without touching them, and then he FREAKED OUT on her because she rang up too many and was screaming and it was absolutely crazy. Customer service can be hard, especially when your company is trying to push you to sell. I say don't worry about what people think because most people understand that it's just part of your job, and just ignore the jerks that don't.
