neither...both are crooked in that they take your money in for safekeeping and pay you a pittance of what they make on it.  The banks were all given astronomically low interest rates and now we are finding out that instead of lending to people who really need that money the banks are investing in stocks and risky hedgefunds.  It is like stealing!  How would you like to get an interest rate of .250% and then turn around and re-invest the money in a high yield low risk investment. Crooks!  There are som lending sites on the internet that alllow you to share the risk of investing with others like yourself.
