If you are not cooking, what dish do you have to bring?

I haven't decided yet.  I live alone so I usually save the turkey for Christmas and do it up big with everything from scratch.  I usually want something in the poultry family for thanksgiving.  I've done Cornish game hens with wild rice and mushroom stuffing.  I've also done ginger chicken, in the microwave, served with rice.  Yum.  We'll see.  My birthday is a few days before this year so...

Not one thing!!  I go out for Thanksgiving dinner and have for the last 15 years. I decided to not cook anymore for men who do nothing but sit on their :bootyshake: and watch football and holler for snacks and drinks. Then they eat the Turkey dinner with all the trimmings and promptly fall asleep only to awaken for another Football game and holler for leftovers and desserts.

The big hotels put on some lovely Thanksgiving buffets or dinners, and if you want leftovers you can buy them and take them home. I always stop by the specialty bakery for elegant desserts the day before if I want them later for home. I don't cook a thing anymore and happier for it.

It's wonderful to get dressed up and go to an elegant Thanksgiving dinner with beautiful flowers on the table, cloth table linens, beautiful china, gleaming silverware and crystal goblets, and be waited on hand and foot. Then after dinner, case the dessert cart with numerous desserts. Knowing you did not have to set that table, cook the dinner, or clean-up. Now that's something to be thankful for.

I plan on cooking for Thanksgiving.  I work at Walmart so I might have to have my dinner another day when everyone can come.  I always have Turkey, dressing, ham, potatoes, cranberry sauce, baked beans, green beens, corn, coconut cake and all the trimming.  I love to cook when a lot of people come.   Hope you all Thanksgiving is a blessed one.

I just had my 50th birthday on Halloween, my husband bought us a cruise to the Carribean during that time, so I won't be cooking this year or having to clean up. I am soo excited!

I'll be eating out this year.  If I was going to stay home I'd probably preorder the small dinner that my local store fixes.  It's turkey with all the trimmings.  I did that a couple of years ago after I had my knee replaced and couldn't get out to have dinner with my mother at her assisted living place.  I lost her this spring so I'm making some new traditions.

I usually have 35-45 people at my home and I make everything, I tell everyone to just bring what they want to drink. I make ham with pineapple and brown sugar, turkey, dressing, potatoes & gravy, green bean casserole, corn bread, jello with bananas, homemade dip and carrots, ham & pickle wraps, squash, meatballs and little smokies in grapejelly & chili sauce, snicker salad, cranberry dip & Ritz crackers, pumpkin pie, chocolate pie, caramel pecan cheesecake, puppy chow, fudge, mint fudge, peanut butter/milk chocolate fudge, banana bread, rolls & cranberry sauce. Yummy!!!!!

Yay!!  Good for you. Be prepared to never want to cook another Thanksgiving dinner again!! Have a blast!! Those cruises feed you until you can't eat anymore 24/7. You can have just about anything in the world food wise. Call for hot chocolate (extra large) with extra whipped cream or vanilla ice cream to add to it around midnight before bed. YUM!!

For thanksgiving I'll be cooking dirty rice, macaroni and cheese, peas and yams.  The turkey I will be getting already roasted from a meat place I like.
