Do you love mac and cheese?
« on: November 02, 2011, 09:39:51 am »
I am old enough that I used to make it from scratch.  Kraft hadn't come out with their boxes.  My kids and grandkids will eat the boxed stuff, but I won't touch it.  The grandkids don't know any better.  I have kind of lost my taste even for the made from scratch stuff.

I'll eat almost any kind of mac and cheese. I like it out of the box. I like home made. I'll eat it baked in the over, or deep fried in a ball.  ;D

That's interesting - I've never heard of deep frying it in a ball.  I like mac and cheese just about anyway, box or homemade.

I love the boxed stuff. Made from scratch is good, but takes so long!

We still have a meal of Mac and Cheese every once in awhile. Usually for sure when the grandkids come and visit!

i like it, but i don't love it....a couple times a month is good enough for me.  i like the home made kind, my mom makes it great, but she's been doing it way before the boxed stuff came out :notworthy:

I used to like the boxed stuff, but now it doesn't taste real... I like making mine from scratch, usually with several different types of cheeses. Sometimes I'll add other goodies in it: smoked sausage, corn and pea medley, ground beef, etc. The only thing I don't like about it made from scratch is reheating leftovers in the microwave tends to cause the cheese to separate, leaving an oily residue. One of my friends has a semi-home-made recipe that uses cream of cheddar soup and Velvita. I guess made that way doesn't cause the cheese separation like natural cheese does, but I'm thinking that it wouldn't taste as good either.

Yes I love it it's one of my favorite foods.  I think I've had the boxed stuff a few times in my life I can count on one hand and still have fingers left over.  I grew up eating the homemade not the boxed so the boxed seems so nasty to me.  I love it with gravy.

i LOVE mac & cheese.  I have a really yummy home made recipe, but am too lazy to make it very often.  I don't really like Kraft, except for their three cheese shells.  That's what I usually have in the house.

8 don't care if it is boxed microwavable, from scratch; as long as you add hotdogs to it I will eat it!

Yummy! I love the stuff but my scale hates it.
I like it homemade but will eat the box kind. Will add extra cheese to the box mix.
