Thanksgiving

For the last few years I have been going to buffets at church or some Hotels and restaurants have wonderful Thanksgiving buffets. When I was traveling one time over Thanksgiving, another lady evangelist and I found a Hotel with a restaurant that was serving a Thanksgiving buffet. It was one of the best Thanksgivings either of us could remember. No cooking....just eating and enjoying the holiday. All to often, Thanksgiving for the women is cooking and servitude, while the men sit and watch Football. I'm a great advocate of having Thanksgiving out somewhere.

This year I will be spending it with my family out of state. However, we will all be going out for dinner. Leftovers can be bought and brought home for later.

We always have a busy Thanksgiving.  We play football in the morning with all of the relatives, then spend the first half of the day with my M-in law, and the second half of the day with my sister.  The next day is shopping, and the day after its to my aunt-in law for dinner with the hubby's other half of the family.  Whew, cooking for all three is just like preparing my own dinner!

The kids(my daughter and her husband, Kelly) and I will probably be going to Kelly's parents for Thanksgiving.They are
like my second family.  Kelly's dad is a great cook so I am sure he will be making the meal.  His pumpkin cheesecake is to die for.                          Kelly's mom and I are really good friends.  People are always surprised by that.

On the actual day we are just having turkey sandwiches, and then the next week we are probably driving up to my boyfriend's parents house.

Between me and my girlfriend we have 3 different places to eat, I cant complain about that lol

I put on a huge feast! Turkey, potatoes & gravy, stuffing, my special corn bread, green bean casserole, squash, cranberry jel, ham & pickle wraps, meatballs, little smokies, jello with bananas, carrots & homemade dip, crispix mix, banana bread, pumpkin pie, apple pie, chocolate pie, caramel pecan cheesecake (homemade!), puppy chow & fudge. Plus I usually throw in a few more items, last minute. I make it all and tell everyone to just bring what they want to drink. I usually have 30 to 40 family and friends show up.
