i get the plain and simple questions.  i would love my questions to be more strange. it would make my survey experience much more exciting.

Probably because that is a qualifying question to get into the survey and by asking you many times will try to get you to not remember your answer if you were not being honest prior.

I'm always bemused at the ones that have drop down options for the "What is your current age?" question, and some of the options are "1 Year Old", "2 Years Old", etc.

Or the ones that ask for your date of birth, and the years start with the current year.
