OldBuddy, I totally agree with you!  LOL.  I suppose the person asking could always ask admin. via a support ticket, too.  I'm sure, though, that admin. has thought of all these options and really, isn't it easier to click on a referral link rather than type one in?  Which is why I don't think the business card idea would work.  Or flyers.  Unless you direct someone to your website where your referral link is.  What do most people do with business cards and flyers?  Right.
The easy way around that is to buy a domain name ($1.99 to $12 a YEAR) and redirect it to your Fusioncash Referral Site or your own web page or blog. Then when you print it on your card or flyer, they can't strip off the referral part to sign up without you. It also makes it easier to type in.

If you have your own domain name and redirect it to your FusionCash referral site, people could still strip off the referral part at that point, couldn't they?? I don't have my own domain name yet, but I have been using a URL shortener to try to keep that from happening as well.
GoDaddy has a feature they call redirect with masking, so when they go to your link it doesn't change and they never see your referral link, so they can't change it. Personally I don't use that, I just send them to my own page that explains more, so they WANT to be under me.

Oh, that's cool!! But I also like your idea because if they have more information and know that someone is actually there to help them learn the ropes, then the chances of them sticking with it are even better than if they just click a link and have no clue what they're doing. You have such great ideas!!!  :notworthy:

A website of course, but wordpress requires a mysql database costs more and then it loses it's advantage. Do a Google search for Why Use Angryhosting

I would use another host I have that costs $88 a year including everything, then makes you an affiliate and pays us $105 for each referral that does the same thing. That means if you find even ONE a year, you end up with a profit. Seemed like a no-brainer to me and I plan to get several before the first year is over.

Gizmo it doesn't matter if I think it's a good idea, I don't twist the knobs and pull the handles around here. The only thing that matters is what the admin thinks. If I were going to move on  that myself, I would much rather break away from the pack and do my own thing. I would probably buy a domain name and set up a pre-sales website with a compelling story telling them why they need to do this. Then I would order some $100 bill drop cards with that website link on it and hand them to people I know could use extra money (everybody?).

Now after I wrote all that, I guess if I were going to go to that much effort, I would probably promote something that was more lucrative.

So what your saying is to spend money I don't have to get my own domain name and website and promote there. Or I could make about 250 business cards from vista print and do it that way.

you could also use the url shortening sites used on twitter to make urls shorter. this way its easier to type in and wont really know theyll be under your referral

I am having trouble convincing my family and friends to sign up so, I think it will be much more diffficult convincing strangers to sign up. I bet if I said they were giving out something free, I would have beaucoup referrals.

Thanks for the great ideas. I'll have to look around but just can't spend money to host.

So find a paid host that offers commission for referrals, then you can GET PAID to host. With my best deal I paid $88 for a whole year of hosting, then I make $105 for each referral. That puts me in profit if I only get one each YEAR! If you can't do that well just by putting a banner on your website, you are in the wrong business.

You can make your own pretty easily. I did that for a while and posted them around the big cities as  I passed through. I did end up with some referrals, so that was nice.

The real problem is the cost of paper to print out the items. The expected value on the flyer is far less than the amount of the paper.

I agree. It can get costly doing alot of printing. Then, it takes gas to go around the city to post the flyers, and where I live, gas is far from cheap.

But this is the deal with that you have to have money to do these kinds of things some of us don't have the money you probably do to do this. There must be a simpler way of getting this site promoted without spending a dime and getting the right refferrals.
