I didn't know anything about it.

However, we buy locally and organic only.

We don't buy anything mainstream anymore.

It has never really been my favorite thing to eat, but I have heard about the outbreak though.

I have a strong dislike of cantaloupe so I don't need a new reason to stay away from it.  Just the smell of cantaloupe makes my stomach flip flop. :sad1:

i've actually never bought cantaloupe!
i like it once in awhile, usually in the summer
if i'm somewhere with a salad bar or something.

it doesn't seem like it's a very popular fruit.
good thing listeria didn't affect watermelon instead!
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

To be honest, I never really ate it before the outbreak - but if I had, I wouldn't give it up.

Yes, for now and other food products contaminated with E. coli, Listeria, and Salmonella.

They found the source of the outbreak, apparently. It was some old equipment, and a puddle of water nearby that was to blame.

I like cantaloupe but haven't bought it in a while (since before the outbreak) due to the expense.

No it didn't stop us buying, but we only bought around... four? Because of expense. I don't know, I wasn't really paying that much attention and I haven't been the primary grocery buyer lately. I just needed to hear the general affected area and decide it probably wasn't in our stores. Not that I don't wash purchases before eating anyways.  ::)
It did bring about some discussion and, later, some jokes though.
