smoke breaks!!

does it bother any of you that sometimes people who smoke get special treatment? because they smoke they can get breaks more!!!! this bothers me !!!! I can understand its an addiction and that is your choice to smoke but why do they get extra breaks sometimes then people who dont smoke well anyways this bothers me

I never heard of smokers getting extra breaks. I never thought smokers got special attention. The last I knew was that if you smoked you had to smoke outside no matter what the weather. I did not think that was any kind of special treatment.

I don't understand what you are talking about!  I think smokers are treated as outcasts and second class citizens!  You have to go outside to smoke, some properties you can't even outside, people look at you as if you are breaking the law or stealing something, and I never heard of anyplace that allows smoking much less allows extra time to do it!!!!!!!!

I don't belittle anyone for their choices in life unless their choices affect me.  I don't like to hear about religion, politics or people's problems unless I ask them.  In the same light I don't condemn smokers, even though I am not one, unless they are putting their stink on me.  If they are getting breaks then you should be getting the same amount and time of breaks.  I have always been given that privilege and allow that privilege now that I am in management.

Wow you hit he nail right on the head I APPLAUED you for that comment  This is what I do If I am working a 8 hr day I take my first break at 9am I start at 6am, then between 11and 11:30 I take my lunch and if I have time I take my last break at between 1 and 1:15 then I leave at 2. I might take a break here and there but nothing excessive.

I dont mind smokers and i dont judge them but when you are supposed to smoke 15 feet or whatever but when you smoke right by the door so i have to smell it that bothers me when your decisions start to affect me!!!!! SMoke all you want BUT I CHOOSE NOT TO SMOKE so do not smoke BY ME !!!!!!!

I do agree with this statement. You cannot even smoke in central park anymore and that OUTSIDE!  However, on the flip side. I don't like to smell smoke as soon as I walk out of a building and I'm a smoker.  I also don't like it around my kids and will move them away from someone who is smoking.  ANY job that I have had did NOT give me extra breaks to smoke. I smoked during my lunch hour and my ten minute break and THAT'S it!

I don't smoke anymore but I never got special breaks when I did.  In fact, over the past 20-30 years, it seems to have become a national pass time to pick on smokers.

It doesn't bother me because I use smokeless tobacco or dip.  I don't know that they get more breaks, but I can dip while I am working.  They can't, so I feel like I have it good.

There is a store where men are given special treatment longer breaks, especailly.  I also notice the smokers go outside and smoke while the non smokers are working waiting for a break.  I smoke but I don't exspect special treatment, but I have seen it done in the small town I am in.  Its not right and unjust.  I went to school all day without haveing a smoke so surely they can wait til the regular break to smoke, that is what my mom does she never got extra breaks to smoke.  This small town we live in if you are not in the right click than you are treated as a outsider and they do give there smokers special treatment just because they are friends of the family or realted.

So have we solved this problem that we the smokers don't get extra breaks I don't know why you would care anyway its there lungs not yours just let it be and move on.

Its there lungs but it can also go into mine when i breathe it in!!!! But i was meaning i dont think its fair that they get extra time off !!!! I have seen them getting extra breaks !!!

I love smoke breaks! Its sometimes just what i need to get me back on track with the rest of my day.
