what do you think about 4 day school weeks

i don't think they should do it because a lot of parents work 5 days a week and it's hard to find someone to watch the kids also i feel the kids get more time out of school then they should like this one fair day teachers day when i was in school the only times we got off was major holidays and snow days and then we had to make them up at the end of the year

I think that it is a great idea because it gives a more relaxing weekend, that way kids can return to their schedules all relaxed. Sometimes, two days just isn't enough.

I don't think that there should be a 4 day school week it puts stress on parents to find alternative things for the kids to do

I think most parents now a days know there will be 4 day school days through out the year.. it's  great to plan a head and have a babysitter on call or grandparents or swap babysitting with a friend where maybe you trade off taking a day off work every other time.

I don't think 4 days would be appropriate as voiced by prior postings due to the need of having parents figure out where to put them during this time. But I wouldn't mind myself a 4 day work week.

what 4 days a week? like kids aren't dumb enough these days, and were going to let them go to school less? school should be 6 days a week and not only that it should be all year round.......yes sir no summer vacation........

what about parents who work weekends, holidays, summers? they still have to find someone to watch the kids on those days. schoool is there to teach the child it's not there to be a sitter for the child. personally i think 4 days would be fine if schools would learn to teach kids things that would actually benefit them in life. half the stuff they teach them they never use in life.

It wouldn't bother me as long as its the same four days so when I get a job I will be able to have a place for my son to go while I am at work.  My son would love it, it doesn't see why he has to go to school anyways he says whats the point.  I try to tell him about not struggling in life and by going to school now he could go to college and get a good career but he says once he is done with hight school he isn't going to college because he hates school. He is only in the sixth grade so he has a while to go so I tell him to start enjoying it and he would like it better, this year he seems happier when he getts home I don't know why but I am assuming that since he is doing better with his grades that he feels better about himself.

I think 4 days would be good. My Grandkids go to school 6 hours a day and 1 is in Kindergarden, the other in 4th grade. to me thats to long of a day and they can use 3 days off....well grammer school i'd say yes, middle and high keep it 5

If you think of it, if you put all the hours the average public school student is in class it amounts to just a little over a day.
