from the past

I am sure some of you have had the experience of meeting an old friend or family member that you haven't seen in eons.  Have any one met someone from there partners past.  My husband is going through cancer.  With in the last 4 months I have met people that I have heard about for the 20 years we have been together but I have never met.  What is strange to me is how my husband and these people interact with each other after all these years.  There wasn's a period of getting to know one and other again, it seems like they just picked up were they left off.  It's sort of a strange feeling.
