Those were your own quotes using the race card.  As far as people criticizing Obama, he's not the only president who has gotten criticized.  Every president goes through it.  There is always something that people get upset with any president about.  This current president has been in almost 3 years now, and I think this office should quit blaming the previous administration for everything that's not right.  He's made choices quite different from the previous administration and they have not all turned out for the best of America.  But that doesn't mean Bush should be blamed now after 3 years when Obama has been in that White House making his own decisions.

I know of about 1.8 trillion in Bush bailouts not counting what has been paid.  Where did you get the other 8.2 trillion from?

I am against bailouts, regardless of the damage of failure.  If something is dying from its own hand then let it die I say.

I spent a little time looking for a corroberating source for:  http://money.cnn.com/news/storysupplement/economy/bailouttracker/
because of the sometimes dubious CNN.  Maybe you could check further?  From that CNNMoney link; "Total bailouts: $11 trillion - Repaid: approx. 1 trillion  -Total Invested $3 trillion"

While I'd concur in general principle with your suggestion, there was some unfortunate veracity to the possibility of negative ripple effects to the economy if those corporations were allowed to fail.  I suppose it's too much to expect that safeguards are now in place so that these irresponsible reprobates don't get the opportunity to shaft the taxpayers again.  Also, those corporations to whom bailout loans were made and who are "sitting on a load of capital" might consider repaying the loans or, using that money to hire and rehire those they laid-off to decrease labor costs, (and increase their golden parachutes).  If not, maybe unknown others will repack their 'chutes, who knows?
