WHY SO MANY PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BE A TRUE FRIEND?

I have 5 friends and that is it. I had friends that as soon as I started living in a way that they felt was un-Christian like they turned away. I have my sister question me why I don't stop being friends with this one person whom I met back in 1993. We call each other brother and sister,we are so close to each other,but he has lied to me,stole from me been in and out of jail and has done drugs. He also has been for me when i needed it the most. I was there for him when no one else would be. I was the only friend of his that was always there whether he did drugs or not he knew where I stood,when he was in jail and his grandma passed, I bailed him out so he could go to the funeral. My friends are my world. I don't take friendship lightly.  If someone doesn't want to be my friend anymore it's them doing the walking, because I am here to stay.Everyone has their faults and if you walk away as soon as they did you wrong  then you will never have anyone in your life.

im not sure why some people are like that but i do believe in treating people the way you would like to be treated. Also, I feel if you are honest and trustworthy otheres will be too.
