I CAN ANSWER THAT!!! I AM!!! I CANT NOT SEEN TO FIND ONE!!!! ONE!!! GIRL THAT IS TRUTHFUL, KIND, AND FRIENDY LIKE ME.  I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY WOMEN CAN BE SO MEAN AND UNGREATFUL TOWARDS OTHER, BUT THEY DO.  WHAT YOU THINK.. ALL I ASK IS YOU TO BE HONEST, HAVE FUN WITH ME, AND LAUGH AND SPEND TIME.  DATS NOT ASKING FOR MUCH CUZ THAT WHAT FRIENDS DO WITH EACH OTHER.  SO THE REAL QUESTION IS WHY SOME MANY PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BE A TRUE FRIEND??

I am fortunate enough to have a few. You know when they come through during your toughest times. When they are there for you through thick and thin and still love ya. No matter how mean you may have been to them during those times. REAL friends are far and few between and it just seems to happen. You laugh together, you cry together, binge eat together, shop together, *bleep* and moan together.

Some one that doesn't look at you blatantly in the face and lie to you, somone who is not after something from you, that you don't have something they want, someone who doesn't always ditch you when they don't need you, but when they are in a crisis need you around.

so true , and i also have found out you may have not talked for quite some time but you can pick up just where you left off as if no time has passeed when you talk again.. meaning you are just as close as you were , i have a few friends and they have stuck by me all these years ,from 3rd grade on, and i am 42.

A friend is someone who is there for you no matter what.  A friend listens to you and knows when you need advice or just someone to listen to.  A friend you will love all of your life and they love you.  A friend shares all of lifes experience with you and weathers the storms life throws at you by your side.

I can honestly say that I have few friends, lots of family and more than enough of aquaintances......I can count on my friends and family always through anything .....one girlfriend I have known for forty years and sometimes we do not see each other for weeks and when we do it is like we were never apart..... I only need a few friends not millions

To me, a real friend is someone who does stuff with you whether they want to or not.  But they do it because you want them too, and because they want to be your friend. The point is compromise, just like in any relationship you have.  If you both are willing to compromise, and be there for each other through thick and thin, then you have yourself a good friend.

It was really nice to read the above posts on what friendship means and it's all so true.  True friends are hard to come by and true friends are a real treasure.
